Man arrested after gunfire near Springs apartments
Colorado Springs police arrested a 24-year-old Monday night after a woman said he fired a gun at her outside a Colorado Springs apartment complex.
Michael Thurman was booked into the El Paso County jail on suspicion of attempted second degree murder after the incident, which happened about 8:15 p.m. Monday outside the Pine Creek Village Apartments, just southeast of Academy Boulevard and Airport Road.
A 19-year-old told police she was outside the apartments when she was approached by a man who threatened her. When she tried to run, he fired multiple shots at her but missed. A witness heard 5 or 6 shots, police said.
The woman said her attacker drove away. Police found Thurman at the Tanager Meadows Apartments, about a half-mile south of the shooting.
No one was injured in the shooting.
