March 2006: Episcopal Diocese of Colorado begins financial investigation of the Rev. Donald Armstrong after receiving a complaint of possible financial misconduct.

Dec. 27: Armstrong begins 90-day suspension.

March 26, 2007: Diocese releases financial misconduct allegations against Armstrong. On the same day, Grace Church's vestry votes to leave the Episcopal Church to join the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA).

April 1: Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, led by the Rev. Michael O'Donnell, holds first service.

April 6: Grace CANA files lawsuit against diocese to keep church property at 601 N. Tejon St.

April 14: Armstrong declares his innocence to parish.

April 22: Grace Episcopal Church holds first service at First Christian Church.

May 10: Diocese files counterclaim against Grace CANA to evict the breakaway parish from North Tejon Street property.

May 26: Ninety-three percent of Armstrong's parish vote to join CANA, according to Grace CANA's records.

July 16: Police begin criminal investigation of Armstrong.

Sept. 26: Ecclesiastical court convicts Armstrong of financial misconduct.

Oct. 5: The Rev. Michael O'Donnell is officially appointed priest-in-charge of Grace Episcopal by diocese Bishop Robert O'Neill.

Oct. 23: Independent forensic audit, arranged by Armstrong's attorneys, finds no theft or tax fraud. Diocese is not swayed by the audit. Vestry of Grace Episcopal issues statement contesting the audit's legitimacy.

Oct. 31: Diocese deposes Armstrong.
