Here's your chance to run for a school board seat
It’s a big year for school boards in the Pikes Peak area’s 17 districts: 50 seats will be up for grabs in the November general election.
Those interested in running can pick up petitions at their respective school district offices beginning Aug. 5 and start circulating them that day. The signatures must be turned in by Aug. 28, according to the election calendar set by the El Paso County Election Office.
Ballots must be set by Sept. 4. Those who win the Nov. 3 election must be sworn into office by Nov. 30.
Here’s a district-by-district roundup of what seats are open, including the names of those who hold them and whether they are term-limited or eligible to run again. Also included is the location where those interested in running can pick up petition packets.
