D-38 school board meeting site changed

The location of the 6 p.m. Lewis-Palmer District 38 School Board meeting has been changed to accommodate the large crowd expected.

The board will meet at Grace Best Elementary School gymnasium, 66 Jefferson Street, in Monument.
The board is expected to vote on school closures and reconfigurations.

The changes are needed, administrators say, because the district has to cut $3 million out of its $39 million budget for 2010-2011. Closure of Grace Best is included in all four options the board is contemplating.
