Rampart Reservoir opens Friday

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE GAZETTE

nRampart Reservoir opens Friday for the summer, with hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Oct. 17. However, only non-motorized, non-trailored boats will be allowed at Rampart Reservoir, such as kayaks, canoes, float tubes, etc.

Other boats will not be allowed until further notice, in an effort to reduce the risk of zebra mussels.

While the invasive mussels have not been found in any of Springs Utilities-owned reservoirs, they are most often spread by boats. The species can reproduce rapidly and block water lines and pumps.

Fishing and other recreational activities are permitted.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
