Woman hurt after bus runs over her hair

THE GAZETTE

A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized Monday after she fell in a parking lot and a bus ran over her hair, partially separating her scalp from her skull, police said.

Amanda Blakely was getting a walker out of the trunk of a car parked at Mosaic, a nonprofit that works with the disabled, at 1785 N. Academy Blvd., when she fell down, according to Colorado Springs Police.

Meanwhile, a Metro Mobility Bus driven by Javier Camacho, 47, was coming to a stop in the parking lot. The right rear tires of the bus ran over Blakely's hair, pulling her scalp away from her head, police said.

Blakely was taken to Memorial Hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.

Police will not ticket Camacho in the incident.
