SUNRISE: AFA cadet to appear for hearing in sex assault case
An Air Force Academy cadet is expected to appear for a hearing Monday morning that will help Air Force officials decide whether the cadet is tried on suspicion of sexual assault.
Kyle Cressy, a senior who has played on academy’s soccer team, is scheduled to appear at 8 a.m. for the Article 32 hearing, which determines whether he faces a court-martial.
Cressy was one of three Air Force Academy cadets who were charged in late 2011 in connection with several alleged sex assaults. Investigators suspect Cressy sexually assaulted a woman on May 28 in the academy’s dorms.
Cadet Stephan Claxton appeared on Thursday for a similar hearing. Prosecutors claimed he sexually assaulted two women, one in November and another in March.
It will likely be several weeks before Air Force Academy officials decide whether Claxton is tried on suspicion of abusive sexual contact, wrongful sexual contact, assault and underage drinking.
WEATHER
Expect sunny skies and unreasonably warm tempretures today. Colorado Springs is forecast to high a high temperature of 62 degrees on Monday before dipping down to a low temperature of 29.
Tuesday should be cooler, with temperatures in the city forecast to top out at 48 degrees.

The Chieftain reports that 18-year-old Torey Kuznicki pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2010 killing of Michael Hopkins. SIA Snow Show gives peek of next ski season's gear
DENVER (AP) — One of the best previews of what snow-sports manufacturers are making for next ski season comes at the annual show thrown by the trade group SnowSports Industries America.
At the SIA Snow Show in Denver this past week, GoPro showed a gadget that allows its cameras to be controlled from a remote control worn on the wrist, or from a smart phone or device. That means kids riding through the halfpipe with cameras on their helmets could have their parents on the sidelines controlling when to snap the best shot.
Glowboardz LLC offered snowboards with lights embedded in the bottom to light up the snow.
One trend that is sticking around is the rocker, or reverse camber, shape in skis and snowboards that have made them easier to ride.
