Cimarron Hills fire district searching for new chief
The board of the Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District is looking for a new fire chief after the recent resignation of Robert Helton.
Gayle Jones, chairwoman of the district board, declined to say why Helton resigned on Oct. 27. He had been chief for about two and a half years, Jones said.
She said the board has begun looking for a new chief for the department which has 12 firefighters.
The district serves homes in a 6-square-mile area just east of Colorado Springs in El Paso County.
