One strong theme running through the Dream City: Vision 2020 process is about building community.

How to start? Build on what we already have.

Here's what local citizens are saying about their treasured moments of connection to community in the Pikes Peak region:

"I was in the Cub Scouts, Pack 58. I was attending the opening day for the Scout-O-Rama at the City Auditorium. The number of people there was, to me, almost phenomenal. I was also impressed by the opening remarks and speech given by then KRDO/Channel 13 anchor Mr. Bill Yeager. He basically stated that it is amazing that the community came together to support and to celebrate the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Colorado Springs."

Alfred Hunter

"While overlooking the entire city at the top of Stratmoor Open Space."

Tiffany Smith

"The balloon festival (Pikes Peak Balloon Classic.) Love the feeling of all the people coming to see something that was in Colorado Springs. Early morning, all the people with family and everyone enjoying. The scenery. We knew we belonged to this area."

Pranab Shrestha

"People I know played vital roles in the revitalization projects initiated by Mayor Rivera of Colorado Springs."

Todd Watson

"The Veterans Day Parade. It is great to see so many people out to thank our veterans. "

Bill Turnbull

"Involvement in The Arc of the Pikes Peak Region. They are an organization that works for the dignity of every individual."

Donna Lockyer

Ted Haggard is starting new church at his Colorado Springs home.
What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
Haggard should stay out of the ministry. He has too much baggage to lead a church.
I don't care what Haggard does, and I'm sick of hearing about him in the news.
Haggard and anyone crazy enough to attend his church deserve each other.
Haggard has a lot to offer as a pastor. Let's give him a chance.
