Calculate taxi ride's fare, route
If you're hesitant to take a cab in an unfamiliar city, let TaxiMe (www.taxime.ca) be your guide. Sixteen major U.S. cities are available for searching. Just input your start and finish addresses, and the site uses Google Maps to estimate your fare, based on the city's rates. If your city is not yet supported, just find out the city's taxi rate, type it in and then map out your planned route.
MOBILE-FRIENDLY
The site has an iPhone- and mobile-friendly version (your phone is automatically detected, so you go to the same Web site). The fare pops up at the top of the screen, along with contact info for area cab companies, which pay to be listed.
