Fiery crash in construction zone shut highway

A fiery, high-speed crash closed southbound Interstate 25 for hours late Friday, but no life-threatening injuries were reported, according to the Colorado Springs police.

Officers arrested the driver, Jeremy Marsaw, of one of the cars believed to be responsible for the crash on suspicion of drunk driving.

It happened about 9 p.m. Friday on I-25 at Cimarron Street.

Marsaw drove the 2005 Saturn Ion at speeds estimated at 100 mph through the construction zone and rear ended a southbound 2003 Ford Explorer, according to police. The Saturn went under the Explorer, causing it to spin into the construction barriers. The Saturn careened off the guardrail, spun and burst into flames, police state.

The four men in the Saturn escaped the burning car and no major injuries were reported on the 54-year-old woman driver of the Explorer or the 2-year-old boy in the SUV.

Marsaw, 29, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and reckless driving.

CLOUDY, BUT WARM

While it's cloudy now, the National Weather Service predicts only a 10 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms after noon. Expect some of the clouds to stick around most of the day with a high temperature nearing 80 degrees. There will also be some mild gusts today, with a south wind between 10 and 20 mph, maybe as high as 30 mph, according to weather service meteorologists.

For Sunday, expect a little higher chance of rain and cooler temperatures, with a high expected around 76 degrees.

What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
