Mom arrested on suspicion of child abuse

A woman was arrested on suspicion of child abuse Thursday after allegedly injuring her 8-month-old.

Jennifer Jesmer, 26, of southeast Colorado Springs, remains in El Paso County Jail today on $20,000 bond. Police responded to her home at 3:47 p.m. Thursday following a medical emergency in which first responders discovered the baby had been injured. The baby was taken to Memorial Hospital for Children with serious injuries.
