Colorado halts prison visits as flu precaution
The threat of swine flu will keep visitors
and volunteers out of Colorado's state and private prisons for at
least the next week, the Colorado Department of Corrections said
Tuesday.
There have been no confirmed cases of the
virus in the state's prison system. The DOC is calling the freeze of
non-essential activities at prisons a precautionary
measure.
Parole board hearings, attorney visits
and medical and clinical appointments will continue with added precautions, the
department said.
