Mike Shaw named Time Dealer of the Year

Denver auto dealer Mike Shaw was honored as 2012 Time Dealer of the Year on Saturday during the 95th annual National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Exposition in Las Vegas. Recipients of the award, which is sponsored by Time magazine in partnership with Ally Financial, are among the nation’s most successful auto dealers and must demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.

After managing and owning a string of dealerships, Shaw launched the “Mike Shaw” branded stores in 1994 with Mike Shaw Chevrolet Saab in Denver. He now has six other dealerships in Colorado, Louisiana and Texas, including Mike Shaw Buick GMC in Colorado Springs. Over the years, Shaw has been involved with many projects and organizations, including Boys & Girls Club of America, Urban League of Denver, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Food Bank of the Rockies. He is the winner of the Scouting Vale La Pena! award, a national Boy Scout award given for service to Hispanic-American/Latino youth.
