Springs hits record high for 2nd day in a row
The temperature reached 91 degrees just before 3 p.m. Monday, breaking the previous standard of 90 degrees set in 1988, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday's early afternoon push makes it the second straight day the city has set a new mark. On Sunday, the mercury moved to 92 degrees breaking a 2006 record of 91.
While sunny skies and warm temperatures are expected to grace the area again on Tuesday, the chance of making it three records in three days is slight. The weather service is predicting a high of 88 degrees while the record for June 7 is 97 degrees, set in 2010.
