CDE seeks input on environmental education plan

The Colorado Department of Education said Tuesday Feb. 7 that it is seeking feedback on its draft Environmental Education Plan.

The draft outlines a vision and goals for environmental education in Colorado, makes recommendations for meeting those goals, provides an infrastructure for leveraging partnerships and resources across the state and outlines actions steps for implementation.

A meeting is planned for 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Denver Parks and Wildlife Office, Hunter Education Building, 6060 Broadway. A session in Pueblo is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Rawlings Public Library, 100 E. Abriendo Ave. Sessions are also planned in Greeley and Durango.

Hard copies of the plan will be available and representatives from CDE and Colorado Department of National Resources will be available to answer questions. Comments may also be submitted online through March 1 here.

CDE will compile feedback and revise the plan over the spring. The revised Environmental Education Plan is expected be presented to the State Board of Education in late summer or early fall. For more information, click here.
