Event offers one-stop help for Springs-area entrepreneurs
Local entrepreneurs will be able to get free legal, accounting and marketing advice Jan. 26 during the first of what is planned to be a monthly event at the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator.
The Colorado Springs Regional Entrepreneurial Alliance (REAL) Consortium, formed last month by directors of Peak Venture Group, recruited six lawyers, accountants and marketing consultants to offer free one-on-one meetings with entrepreneurs at the event, which it calls eNight, from 3:30-6 p.m. The event also will include three 30-minute seminars conducted by the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and other members of the consortium as well as a 30-minute speech by local entrepreneur John Street.
“Our purpose is to provide everything necessary to enable local entrepreneurs to be successful,” said Duane Fitch, chair of the consortium, a director of Peak Venture Group and owner of local software company Application Integration Engineering. “We are trying to build a road map to funnel entrepreneurs to somebody who can help them. We are trying to build a model where entrepreneurs can get the help they need from organizations that focus on the specific area where the entrepreneur needs assistance.”
Consortium members sending representatives to next week’s meeting include the incubator, SCORE, Peak Venture Group, the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center, the colleges of Business and Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado Technical University, Middle Market Entrepreneurs, the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corp. and High Altitude Investors. The Procurement Technical Assistance Center also is a consortium member.
