The Rev. Rebekah Simon-Peter, a leading speaker on Christian environmentalism, is bringing her message to two area churches this month.
Simon-Peter is founder of Bridge-Works, an environmentally conscious religious nonprofit organization based in Wyoming.
She'll speak at 7 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Fountain, 1003 N. Santa Fe Ave. The event, "Science and Solutions for Communities of Faith," is free. For more information, call 382-5113.
On May 17, Simon-Peter will conduct a workshop, "Climate Change: Science and Solutions for Communities of Faith," from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Wilson United Methodist Church, 6460 Flying W Ranch Road.
The event costs $10 per person, $15 per couple and $20 per family.
"The workshop will offer simple steps for parishes to reduce our carbon footprint," said Keith Watson, senior pastor at Wilson United Methodist Church.

Find Focus at new Web site
Focus on the Family has launched a new Web site, www.focusonthefamily.com, that offers audio and video on a variety of family-related topics.
The site's "Family Radio" has programming from Focus radio shows, including James Dobson's daily radio program.
"Family TV" offers Focus-produced video with family themes and Christian messages.
Focus calls it a user-friendly Web site where families can easily locate content and advice for their everyday needs.
Those using the old URL address of www.family.org will be directed to the new Web site.
