UPDATE: I-25 re-opened after semi catches fire

THE GAZETTE

Southbound Interstate 25 near downtown Colorado Springs has been re-opened after an 18-wheel semi truck caught fire.

The semi, which was on the shoulder between Uintah and Bijou Streets, was fully engulfed in flames at one point, according to Colorado Springs police. The fire has since been put out.

Police are investigating whether the semi's brakes overheated. An official cause, though, has not been determined.

No one was injured in the blaze.
