Robber takes out a loan at gunpoint

THE GAZETTE

A gunman held up a payday loan business this morning, escaping with an unknown amount of cash after checking with a lookout that the coast was clear, Colorado Springs police reported.

The man entered the EZ Money store at 1656 S. Circle Drive around 9 a.m. and asked about getting a loan. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded cash.

Before leaving, the gunman made several phone calls, asking "is everything OK out there?" indicating he had an accomplice, police said.
