Forecasters: Region will chill out before things warm up

THE GAZETTE

Temperatures will be chilly to start the work week as a low pressure system plunges the mercury to the low teens at night through Wednesday.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service office in Pueblo say the system could bring a few flurries to the Pikes Peak region Monday night, especially to the high country. Elevations above 10,000 feet could see a couple inches of snow, forecasters said.

High temperatures Tuesday will hang in the low 20s before a warming trend kicks in.

Forecasters said spring-like weather will return next weekend with temperatures in the upper 40s for much of the region.
