LIVE BLOG: 'Every Voter Counts' forum

THE GAZETTE

The Gazette and The Independent, along with radio station KRCC 91.5 FM and KOAA-TV Channels 5 and 30, today jointly present "Every Voter Counts," a public forum on the conduct of the 2008 election in El Paso County.

Representatives from the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's office, which administers elections, will answer questions from the public.

Co-sponsors of the event include El Paso County Commission Chair Dennis Hisey; State Sen. John Morse; Colorado Springs City Councilwoman Jan Martin; Citizens Project; Common Cause; the Colorado Springs Diversity Forum; and the League of Women Voters.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
