Colorado Community College Foundation names director

Shelley Thompson has been named executive director for the Colorado Community College Foundation.

Dr. Nancy McCallin, president of the Colorado Community College System made the announcement February 10.

The Colorado Community College System Foundation provides financial support for students and develops workforce readiness programs.

 Thompson has been director of Donor Relations and Major Gifts at the  Denver Museum of Nature and Sciencesince 2009. Prior to that position, she was director of Outreach for the University of Colorado Denver and was the national director of Corporate Relations for Outward Bound USA. She received her master of arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and her bachelor of arts in Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound.

 

The Colorado Community College System serves 162,000 students at 13 state colleges annually, and oversees career and technical programs in 160 school districts,including those in Colorado Springs.
