3 arrested in strip mall poker game raid
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A raid on an illegal poker game led to three arrests early Tuesday at a strip mall in southeast Colorado Springs, authorities said.
Investigators say they think the operators of Kung Karaoke Bar and Restaurant, 3768 Astrozon Blvd., were sneaking gamblers out the back door and into another storefront two doors down for the illegal card game, said Colorado Springs police Sgt. Richard Duvall of Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence, which assisted in the raid. Eleven people were inside when a multijurisdictional team led by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation raided the poker game, authorities said.
Brothers Hyo Soo Son, 50, and Hyun Soo Son, 70, allegedly ran the game, and Jin Guk Kim, 60, was among the players, said CBI spokesman Lance Clem. The three were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor professional gambling, he said.
None of the other players was arrested.
The owner, Keon He Yi, could face discipline ranging from a written warning to the revocation of her liquor license, the City Clerk’s Office said. Yi received the license in October 2006 and has no violations.
