• Springs Rescue Mission is accepting nonperishable food and warm winter coats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at two local Sam’s Club stores, 715 S. Academy Blvd. and 1850 E. Woodmen Road. Items needed include nonperishable food items, new or good used winter coats, holiday meal food items such as turkey, boxed stuffing, boxed mash potatoes, canned mixed vegetables, canned yams and baked pies. • Food items for Care and Share will be collected through Sunday Nov. 15 at all Colorado Springs Walgreens locations. Items needed include canned meat, tuna, tomato products, meals, fruits, vegetables, beans and soup, boxed pasta, peanut butter and powdered milk. For information, call Brian Franks, 570-1618. • A turkey drive to benefit Care and Share will take place during the week of Nov. 16 at the Colorado City Creamery, 2602 W. Colorado Ave. Bring a turkey and receive a single ice cream cone for free. For information, call Carrie Burris, 634-1411.

• Crossfire Ministries is accepted donations for its annual food drive for Thanksgiving baskets. Donations of turkeys, potato flakes, yams, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, gravy and margarine cubes can be dropped off between 10 a.m. to 4p.m. Nov. 17-19 at 307 N. Union Blvd. or call 650-4152 to make other arrangements.

• Local Qdoba Mexican Grill locations will be accepting nonperishable food items to benefit Springs Rescue Mission from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 18. The first 1,000 people to donate two nonperishable food items will receive a “Buy One Get One Free Street Taco coupon. For information, call 314-2343.

• Meals for the Military” program asks customers at local HoneyBaked Ham locations to donate $1 or more on Wednesday to help deliver full Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to local military families with members deployed oversees. For locations, go to http://www.honeybakedham.co.

• The Guitar Center is accepting donations of nonperishable foods to benefit local food banks. Donations can be dropped off through Nov. 28 at Guitar Center, 535 N. Academy Blvd. For information, call 591-9040 or go to http://www.guitarcenter.com/.

• Land’s End at Sear at Chapel Hills Mall, 1650 Briargate Blvd., is collecting used coats for the nationwide “Big Warm-Up” campaign through Nov. 30. For information, go to www.landsend.com.

• MOMS Club, Colorado Springs North Chapter, will collect clean, gently used coats and jackets as part of the One Warm Coat community service project from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 during the Holiday Extravaganza, Sundance Mountain Lodge, 1865 Woodmoor Drive. • The Salvation Army’s Fill-A-Stocking program is accepting donations of gifts for ages newborn to teenagers through Dec. 14. For information, call Shannon, 884-1063.

• The fourth annual Santa on Patrol is accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for children in the Tri-Lakes area. Donations can be dropped off by Dec. 16 to the Monument police Department, 6645 Beacon Lite Road, Monument, or Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Department, 18650 Highway 105, Monument. • “Operation Golden Christmas” is accepting gifts for residents in local community care centers. For a list of needed items, donation drop off locations or to make a monetary, call 635-5767.

• Holiday “Operation Drumstick 10 for 10” hosted by Springs Rescue Mission is accepting donations of money and nonperishable food items to benefit needy families through Dec. 24 at various locations. For information, go to mysrm.org or call 632-1822.

• Ent Federal Credit Union is accepting nonperishable food items for the annual “Care and Share Holiday Food Drive.” Donations of canned meat and tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals, canned and bagged beans, canned soup, pasta, peanut butter and powdered milk can be dropped off at any local Ent locations through Dec. 31.
