In their home: A poem
"Life in the Meadow," a poem by "Miss Kitty"
“Life in the Meadow”
The days around here come and go,
Wintertime brings about the snow,
The winds blow hard with all their might,
But I’m safe in here just like every night,
Good friends are always around,
Announce they’re in camp with lots of sound,
The flames dance around in the pit,
Smoking some pot, here I sit,
When you need help good friends are always near,
Just don’t ask Alvin for a sip of his beer,
We try to look out for one another,
Just like a family with a sister and a brother,
Human kindness is not lost,
There are those who go out of their way, usually not minding the cost,
I will never forget my time here,
Or those who I have met whom I hold dear.
