Public meeting tonight about future of community centers
City plans series of meetings, starting with Westside center

The city of Colorado Springs will host a series of meetings at local community centers to discuss the centers’ future and fund-raising efforts to keep them open. City Council, facing budget shortfalls, provided enough money for the centers to remain open through March 31. The centers must find private money or partnerships to remain open after that.
All meetings run 6:30-7:30 p.m. and are open to the public. The meetings are:
• Wednesday, Westside Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St.
• Jan. 19, Hillside Community Center, 925 S. Institute St.
• Jan. 20, Deerfield Hills Community Center, 4290 Deerfield Hills Road
• Jan. 27, Meadows Park Community Center, 1943 S. El Paso Ave.
