Comcast rolling out higher Internet speeds

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE GAZETTE

Comcast is rolling out higher Internet speeds over the next month in Colorado Springs, including a 50 megabit-per-second (Mbps) package. Many existing customers will see their browsing speed increase by the end of October as the cable company doubles its 6 mpbs “performance” package to 12 Mpbs and its 8 Mpbs “performance plus” to 16 Mpbs (the 1 mpbs “economy” package stays unchanged). There’s no additional charge for the speed bump.

Comcast is also adding two new tiers: a 22 Mpbs “ultra” package that also bumps upload speeds to 5 Mpbs for $62.95 a month, and a 50 Mpbs “Extreme 50” tier that comes with 10 Mpbs uploads for $99.95 a month.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
