This film tells two separate but related true stories. Meryl Streep stars as the chef Julia Child when she lived in Paris with her husband Paul who was employed with the U.S. Office of Strategic Services. Adrift and unsettled in life, Child begins to cook and discovers passion and joy.
The other story centers on a young wife, Julie Powell, who is also at loose ends until she makes a similar discovery, all with the help of food.
