My Sister's Keeper (PG-13)
Sara and Brian Fitzgerald's life with their young son and their two-year-old daughter, Kate, is forever altered when they learn that Kate has leukemia. Their only hope is to conceive another child, intended to save Kate's life. They decide to do whatever it takes to keep Kate alive, despite the moral implications. And whatever it takes is another child, Anna.
Young Anna Fitzgerald has coped all her life with her older sister's rare cancer, and has served as a donor for her for as long as she can remember. She has missed many opportunities in order to be there for her sister, but has never resented it. The sisters endure various medical procedures and hospital stays until Anna she finds out that the entire reason she was conceived was to keep her sister alive. The way she looks at the world is changed forever.
Anna decides to start saying no. She goes to court in the hopes of freeing herself once and for all and earning the chance to live her own life, tearing the fabric of this already troubled family apart.
