The Soloist (PG-13)

In 1995, L.A. Times journalist Steve Lopez discovers Nathaniel Anthony Ayers , a former classical music prodigy, playing his violin on the streets of L.A. Columnist Lopez is at a dead end in life. His connection to his job is tenuous, his marriage is a shambles when he meets the once promising musician who has also lost his way.

 As Lopez endeavors to help the homeless man find his way back, a unique friendship is formed, one that transforms both their lives. Through a number of popular articles on Ayers Lopez explores what leads to the death of a dream.
