Dr. Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) has become the laughingstock of the paleontological community, thanks to his theories about time travel. No one's laughing, though, when he, his research assistant, and a survivalist hillbilly tumble head over heels through a space-time vortex into another dimension.
Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world.
Will they be able to navigate this hostile territory and get back to their own world so that Dr. Marshall can indulge in some well-deserved gloating?
