Motorcyclist leads trooper on chase, then crashes

A motorcyclist and his passenger were taken to Memorial Hospital Wednesday evening after a high-speed chase ended in a crash.

Just after 5 p.m., a Colorado State Patrol trooper tried to pull over the motorcyclist, who had been speeding north on I-25 in southwest Colorado Springs. The trooper and the motorcyclist exited at Cimarron Street, but the motorcyclist did not stop. The trooper followed the motorcyclist onto Sierra Madre Street.

The trooper stopped chasing when the bike crossed into oncoming traffic. The motorcycle was later involved in a crash near the intersection of Sierra Madre and Antlers Place.

The driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. The motorcyclist faces multiple traffic charges.
