One person killed after motorcycle crash on U.S. 24
A person died Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle crash near the Waldo Canyon Trailhead.
The crash took place about 4 p.m. Saturday on westbound U.S. 24, about four miles west of Manitou Springs. The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to Penrose-St. Francis Hospital, where he later died, said Cpl. Eric Wynn of the Colorado State Patrol.
The motorcycle, a 2008 Harley Davidson, was the only vehicle involved in the crash, Wynn said. It is unknown whether drugs, alcohol or the motorcycle’s speed played a part in the crash.
