The Pikes Peak Children's Museum needs a logo, and, fittingly, it wants the design to be inspired by children.

The museum, still in the formative stages, is holding a logo contest through April 17, open to children in El Paso County ages 1-11.

Entries are limited to one per child and can be dropped off at any Pikes Peak Library District branch, the Bemis School of Art or participating elementary schools.

Five designs will be chosen on April 20 by a panel from the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and the Bemis School of Art. These five will be displayed in all branches of the Pikes Peak Library District, and the public will choose the top three.

A professional graphic designer will then use the selections as inspiration for the final logo design.

The three winners will receive a gift certificate for an art class at the Fine Arts Center's Bemis School of Art, an artist's kit, and the logo framed and permanently displayed at the museum.

See the Pikes Peak Children's Museum Web site for a list of participating schools and complete rules: www.pikespeakchildrensmuseum.org.
