ESSENTIALS: People on the move, honors, new businesses

NONPROFITS
• Rich Strycker announced that he will retire on Nov. 30, after serving as Greccio Housing’s executive director for the past seven years. Greccio Housing is a nonprofit organization that has served low-income families and individuals in the Pikes Peak region since 1990.
• The USA Swimming Foundation announced that USA Diving President and CEO Debbie Hesse has been named executive director of the USA Swimming Foundation, effective Nov. 15. Hesse brings 25 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, strategic planning, public relations, nonprofit management and volunteer leadership.

BANKING
• D. Edward Sauer, president and CEO of The Bank at Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, will serve a second term as chairman of the Colorado Bankers Association through June 30. As chairman, Sauer is responsible for presiding over the association’s board of directors’ meetings, assisting the board in formulating policies and programs helpful to the industry and its customers, conducting an annual review of organizational performance and effectiveness, promoting active participation in the association and representing the CBA at numerous public and association-related events.
• Ent Federal Credit Union announced two promotions in its finance department. Janelle Grau has been promoted to finance supervisor; Grau has been with Ent for 10 years and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Fort Hays State University. Holly Scott has been promoted to finance analyst II; Scott, who has been with Ent for more than 18 years, has a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

EDUCATION
• University of the Rockies, a graduate school specializing in psychology programs at the master’s and doctoral levels, announced the hiring of Gemma Ivy as finance manager. Ivy has more than 15 years of experience in finance and is a certified public accountant.

OTHER INDUSTRIES
• For the fifth year out of the past six, financial-services firm Edward Jones ranks highest in investor satisfaction with full-service brokerage firms, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Full Service Investor Satisfaction Study. The firm’s 60 southeast Colorado branch offices employ nearly 140 financial advisers and administrative staff; 40 of the region’s offices are in Colorado Springs.
• Dynetics announced that retired Col. Bill Hughes has joined the company as director of its Colorado Springs operations. Hughes also will lead Dynetics’ efforts relating to Department of Defense cyber and space markets in the Western region. Hughes most recently served as chief of the Deterrence and Strike Division at Peterson Air Force Base.
• ISYS Technologies, Littleton/Colorado Springs, has been named U.S. Small Business Administration Subcontractor of Year 2010 for Region VIII. ISYS Technologies was incorporated in 1989; In 2002, it was reorganized and became a small, woman-owned business with Teresa Porter as chief executive officer.
