Phone lines jammed for Obama tickets
Comments 0 | Recommend 0DENVER • Getting through on the phone to obtain tickets for Barack Obama's nomination speech at Invesco Field has proven to be a bit more rocky than anticipated.
Since officials announced the procedure for securing tickets Wednesday afternoon, the phone lines have been jammed while people at Colorado Campaign for Change offices in Colorado try to handle the large volume of requests.
"People have to be persistent," Obama spokesman Matt Chandler said today. "We've run tests and it is working."
More than half of the 75,000 tickets being made available for Barack Obama's nomination speech Aug. 28 at Denver's Invesco Field at Mile High will be for Colorado residents. People will start being notified Tuesday if they were successful at getting into the event, officials said Wednesday.
