Local hotel occupancy rates break three-month slide

Local hotels saw occupancy rates rise 0.6 percentage points in January compared to a year ago, breaking a three-month slide in occupancy rates, according to the Rocky Mountain Lodging Report. Colorado Springs area hotels posted a 44 percent occupancy rate in January. Average room rates jumped 7.5 percent in month to $81.18.
