Free parking next three Saturdays

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE GAZETTE

Holiday shoppers take note: There will be free on-street parking downtown and in Old Colorado City the next three Saturdays.

The free parking this Saturday, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 is expected to cost the city up to $20,400 in uncollected revenue. Officials expect some of that will be offset by an increase in retail and restaurant sales tax collections from a greater number of shoppers.

The free parking applies to on-street meter parking only and not to private or city-owned garages or lots. The meter time limits will be enforced, as will no-parking bans in loading zones.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
