Surprise, surprise: Snow on Pikes Peak

Perhaps it's not the biggest curveball organizers of this weekend's Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon have seen, but August snow on the peak did put volunteers in motion Wednesday.

Debbie Swanson and other volunteers were out Wednesday morning, shoveling snow off the deck next to the summit house on top of 14, 115-foot peak after 1-2 inches fell Tuesday when storms rolled through the region.
