Poll: Debates could still change race in Colorado
DENVER - A new poll that shows
Barack Obama leading in Colorado also shows that the upcoming
presidential debates could still affect the race here.
The poll
by Quinnipiac University found that 22 percent of voters say it's very
likely or somewhat likely that the debates could cause them to change
their pick for president.
The voters who said they were most open
to persuasion were independent and Hispanic voters. Thirty-three
percent of independent voters say they could change their minds and 34
percent of Hispanic voters said the same.
The poll shows Obama leading 49 percent to 45 percent among likely voters, with a margin of error or 2.6 percentage points.
In a poll taken before the conventions, John McCain led in Colorado, 47 percent to 46 percent.
