THE GAZETTE

It’s not often you get a chance to tour an animal hospital, so take advantage while you can. From 2 to 5 p.m. today, the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs, 1015 Cheyenne Meadows Road, is showing off its new state-ofthe-art digs.

Staff will explain procedures including laser and orthopedic surgery, pain management, radiology and allergy testing. The open house also will feature educational stations where pet owners can learn about nutrition, pet training, laser technology, dental work and other procedures. Goodie bags, raffles and refreshments will be available. The hospital was formerly called Columbine Animal Clinic.

Seeking cute pets

If you think your pet is the cutest or most handsome around, enter him or her in our photo contest at pets.coloradosprings.com. Once you put a picture of your pet on the site, you and your friends can vote as many times as you like. The more votes, the better, but please just one entry for each pet — otherwise you’re likely to split your votes.

The contest runs through Nov. 23. The top 10 vote-getting pets will be entered into a drawing to win a four-pack of Cinemark movie tickets.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
