THE GAZETTE

Colorado Springs police arrested a man who allegedly robbed Mesa Liquors, near Circle Drive and Monterey Road, Wednesday night.

Mauricio Collins turned himself into police on Thursday morning, police said.

On Wednesday night a man came into the store at 1740 Shasta Drive just before 7 p.m. with his face covered and possibly carrying a black semi-automatic handgun, police said. Police did not say if the man took money or merchandise.

Police were told by witnesses that another man was waiting outside while the robber approached the store's employees. Both men got away before police arrived. A possible second subject has not yet been identified.
