Gunfire leads to traffic stop, arrest

THE GAZETTE

Gunfire in a Colorado Springs neighborhood Saturday night stemmed from domestic violence, Colorado Springs police said.

Police were called to the 200 block of Longfellow drive after a 10 p.m. call from neighbors reporting shots. Officers learned that a red pickup was seen fleeing the neighborhood.

Officers spotted a truck matching the description near the intersection of Airport Road and Murray Boulevard and pulled it over.

Police say they found 24-year-old Evan Hill and a pistol inside the truck.

“Officers were also able to determine the incident was a result of domestic violence,” police said in a report. Police said no people were injured.

Hill was booked into the El Paso County jail on several misdemeanors, jail records show.
