THE GAZETTE

Colorado Springs police arrested a teenager Tuesday night on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping, third-degree assault and violation of a restraining order.

Police were summoned to a McDonald's restaurant at 4801 N. Academy Blvd. at 9:23 p.m. by an employee reporting a disturbance between a male and a female. They were gone when police arrived but witnesses said it appeared the young woman was taken away against her will, and it appeared that she had been assaulted.

A short time later police detained a 17-year-old suspect near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive.

The 16-year-old victim was located in an apartment nearby and released to her father. The 17-year-old suspect, whose name was not released, was transported to the Spring Creek detention Facility.

The victim's injuries did not require medical attention.
