Fatal crashes in 2008
Feb. 4 - Terrence Webster, 22, a University of Colorado at Colorado Springs student, died when his car smashed into a garage in the 400 block of Cragmor Road, off Austin Bluffs Parkway. Police said Webster was speeding, and they believe alcohol may have been a factor.
Feb. 19 - Matthew Sims, 25, was speeding the wrong way on Interstate 25 while fleeing a police officer when his Volkswagon Jetta slammed into an oncoming car, killing himself and the car's driver, 64-year-old Sylvia Hinklin of Cotopaxi. Hinklin's dog, Chase, also died in the crash. Police said Sims was drunk.
Feb. 23 - Graham Johnson, 14, was walking with friends on Orion Drive when he was hit by a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Michael E. Gibbs, 20. Police said Gibbs was drunk and fled. He pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide charges and a trial is scheduled for June 15.
March 29 - Evan Kinnan, 18, was the passenger in a BMW 318ti that rolled in the 1500 block of Woodmen Road. Police said that he and the driver, Craig Milos, 18, had been drinking at a party, and both were thrown from the car. Milos has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide and case is pending.
April 13 -- Davina Williams-McKinney, 28, of Colorado Springs, died in a crash at Circle Drive and Greenwood Circle. Police said she was under the influence while driving southbound on Circle when she lost control of her car and slammed into an oncoming vehicle, injuring two people in the other vehicle.
May 25 - Mitchell Corso, 20, and Christian Vanderwege, 20, both of Colorado Springs, were killed in a motorcycle crash in the Village Seven neighborhood at North Carefree Circle and Picturesque Circle. Police said Corso was driving east when the motorcycle slammed into a turning vehicle. Neither wore helmets.
June 4 - Jorge Barba, 28, of Colorado Springs was northbound on Marksheffel Road when he ran a red light and was hit by a car heading east on Highway 94. Barba was killed; it's unclear why he failed to stop.
June 7 - Christine McCord, 54, of Peyton was killed when a driver rear-ended her stopped car near mile marker 37 on Highway 24. The crash happened just after her son stepped out to secure a mattress that was lying in the road. Troy Hauck, 33, is charged with vehicular homicide and the case is pending.
June 13 - Azeleah DeLeon, 8 months, died when a suspected drunken driver rear-ended the car she was in while it was stopped on Powers Boulevard at South Carefree Circle. Azeleah was strapped into a child seat in the back of the car; the driver accused in her death, Levi Van Kekerix, 26, had a blood-alcohol level of .013 percent, according to authorities. He is awaiting trial on a charge of vehicular homicide.
Aug. 1 - Andrew Allman, 25, of Colorado Springs, died in a motorcycle crash at Airport Road and University Drive, near Academy Boulevard. Police said Allman was westbound on Airport Road at a high rate of speed and was unable to avoid a car that backed into his path from an apartment parking lot. He and a passenger, Amanda Diaz, were thrown. The other driver, Tina Kelly, 33, of Colorado Springs was charged with vehicular homicide.
Aug. 8 - Two cycling enthusiasts - Edgar "E.J." Juarez, 30, and Jayson Kilroy, 28 - were killed when a pickup hit their bicycles at 26th Street and Westend Avenue. Police said the driver, 63-year-old Barbara Thomas, was under the influence of prescription drugs and not wearing her required contact lenses.
Aug. 9 - Gary Krauser, 59, died in a motorcycle crash at North 30th Street and Garden of the Gods Road. Another driver, 46-year-old Clark Howie, did not see his motorcycle and clipped the bike while changing lanes, sending it skidding across the intersection, police said. Krauser was sober and wearing his helmet. Howie was cited with careless driving involving a death.
Sept. 6 - Ricky Chenoweth, 20, of Colorado Springs, died in a motorcycle wreck in the 700 block of Bayfield Drive. He was eastbound and lost control when his 2002 Honda CBR hit a speed bump.
Oct. 3 - Randy Fisher, 26, was under the influence when he crashed his motorcycle in the 1700 block of Dublin Boulevard. He was not wearing a helmet.
Oct. 12 - Juan Garcia-Daniel, 41, of Colorado Springs died in the 2000 block of Hancock Expressway. Police said he was eastbound when his Infiniti Q30 veered into an oncoming lane and hit a Jeep Cherokee, injuring one occupant. Garcia-Daniel was believed to be under the influence.
Oct. 24 - Aaron Woestemeyer, 29, of Colorado Springs died in a motorcycle crash at Highway 83 and Powers Boulevard. Police said he was northbound Powers and lost control of his Honda Valkyrie while maneuvering through a curve. Investigators say he was under the influence, speeding and not wearing a helmet.
Nov. 15 - Michael Bishaw, 50, of Colorado Springs died in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of San Rafael Street and Wahsatch Avenue. He was not wearing a helmet and lost control while northbound on Wahsatch.
Nov. 24 - Wade Lehman, 19, was the passenger in a sedan that drifted into the shoulder of Interstate 25 and slammed into a parked pickup near the Bijou Street exit. The driver, Lehman's 19-year-old girlfriend Dezirae Shier-Gill, was cited with careless driving resulting in a death.
Nov. 25 - Charles Galloway, 23, died in a motorcycle crash at North Carefree Circle and Whip Trail. Police said Galloway was passing an eastbound car on Carefree Circle when he lost control and hit a curb.
