Traffic quarrel ends in gunfire

THE GAZETTE

Police are investigating a traffic quarrel in which a man took aim and fired at another driver Wednesday in northeast Colorado Springs.

The victim - who wasn't identified - told police the shot came from a Ford Thunderbird with four occupants about 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Austin Bluffs and Academy boulevards.

A passenger brandished a gun before firing a single shot in the man's direction, which missed, Colorado Springs police said. The victim sped away and called police from a store in the 1100 block of South Circle Drive.

Police did not release detailed descriptions of the occupants of the Thunderbird. It was unclear what prompted the attack.
