Father tells kids to bite officers during his arrest, police say

THE GAZETTE

Colorado Springs police Tased and arrested a man Wednesday afternoon after passing out drunk in a children’s play area and then encouraging his kids to "bite the officers’ faces off."

Colorado Springs Police say Joshua Alger, 28, had passed out drunk at a McDonald’s play area at 4801 N. Academy Blvd. about 4 p.m. When officers found out Alger had an arrest warrant, they called the children’s mother to pick them up. Alger then became agitated with the police officers and refused to follow their commands and told his kids to bite the officers. When he continued to fight, officers brought him to the ground and used a Taser to subdue him.

Along with the original warrant, he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
