5 arrested in prostitution sting

A prostitution sting along a beleaguered stretch of East Platte Avenue led to the arrests of four prostitutes and a pimp, police said today.

Detectives with the police Street Impact Team targeted prostitution in the 1900 block of East Platte on Monday after noticing a number of known prostitutes were frequenting the area.  The women were arrested after agreeing to perform sexual acts in exchange for money with undercover officers.

The women were identified as Tamara Fox, 24, Diane Allison, 39, Jessica Rivera, 19 and LaShunda Frazier, 21, police said.

A fifth suspect, 56-year-old Robert Karr, was arrested on suspicion of organizing the prostitution ring.
