First an Olympian, then Rachael Flatt is a 2010 debutante

Olympic figure skater Rachael Flatt and 26 other young women will be presented at the Colorado Springs Debutante Ball Dec. 22 at the Broadmoor International Center.

The Debutante Ball has a 44-year tradition. Proceeds benefit the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center’s ongoing acquisition fund and over the years has raised more than $525,000 for the museum’s permanent collection.

Alexandra Elizabeth Anderson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Lee Anderson and the granddaughter of the late Jerry Noel Anderson and Georgia Jean Anderson of Ocala, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. David Ralph Fuller of Chico, Calif. She is a graduate of the Colorado Springs School and plans to attend Kenyon College in Ohio.

Andie Louise Aylward is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Allen Aylward and the granddaughter of the late Edmund William Aylward Sr. and Maria Louise Aylward of Neenah, Wis., and the late Albert James Shadrick and Phyllis Miriam Shadrick of Colorado Springs. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Colorado State University.

Emma Jean Bartels is the daughter of Timothy George Bartels of Holyoke and Brenda Lou Bartels and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard John Bartels of St. Paul, Neb., and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Alan Moline of Lamar, Neb. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Kristen Claudia Bartlett is the daughter of Dr. Christopher Raymond Bartlett and Dr. Donna Lynn Mumma and the granddaughter of the late Claude Raymond Bart-lett and Patricia Morrison Bartlett of Bloomington, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wayne Mumma of Parachute. Kristen is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Kendra Taylor Burch is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Burch and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Dexter Burch of Greeley, and Mr. and Mrs. John Alvin Leffler of Eaton. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Regis University in Denver.

Emily Anne Evans is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Brian Evans and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harold Evans, and the late Gerald Francis O’Connell Sr. and Elizabeth Julie O’Connell of Dayton, Ohio. She is a graduate of Air Academy High School and plans to attend Gonzaga University in Washington.

Rachael Elizabeth Flatt is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Horace Flatt and the granddaughter of Dr. Horace Perry Flatt of Terrell, Texas, and the late Eleanor Jutzi Flatt, and Jack Carlton Reed of Cincinnati and the late Mary Elizabeth Reed. Rachael is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Stanford University in California. 

Lauren Kathleen Foster is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert James Foster and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dollins Tolbert Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas Campbell. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Colorado State University.

Chelsea Lauren Grant is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Christian Grant and the granddaughter of the late Leonard Allen Grant and Inez June Clawson of Colorado Springs, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Melvin Akey of Haigler, Neb. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Colorado State University.

Eve Marie Jennings is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Charles Jennings and the granddaughter of the late Dr. Rodney Leland Jennings and Jenevieve Sue Jennings of Norwood, and the late Floyd Moulton Lutz and Elizabeth Ida Lutz of Minneapolis. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Fort Lewis College.

Grace Townsend Kane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hayden Kane and the granddaughter of the late Hayden William Kane and Elizabeth Schermer Kane, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hall Noyes. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Victoria Ray Knox is the daughter of Dr. Barton Edward Knox and Mitzi McClellan Knox and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Morris Salem Knox of Lubbock, Texas, and the late Raymond Edward McClellan and Betty James McClellan of Pensacola, Fla. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Texas Christian University.

Kristine Ann Kurtz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell Kurtz and the granddaughter of the late Chester Francis Kurtz and Shirley Ann Walters of Colorado Springs, and the late Merlin Eugene Olson and Sylvia Mae Olson of Wakefield, Neb. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Santa Clara University in California.

Karly Anne Lindroth-Yates is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Owen Yates II and the granddaughter of John Owen Yates of Security and the late Barbara Lee Yates, and Mr. and Mrs. John Eric Lindroth of Dallas. She is a graduate of the Colorado Springs School and plans to attend Hastings College in Nebraska.

She is a graduate of Fountain Valley School and plans to attend Texas Christian University.

Haley Janene McCann is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael James McCann and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Floyd McCann of El Paso, Texas., and Mr. and Mrs. David Giulio Barsotti of Denver. She is a graduate of Fountain Valley School and plans to attend Rice University in Texas.

Jane Katharine Porter is the daughter of Arthur Woods Porter and Jeannie Kirches Porter and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leaholme Porter, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jack Kirches. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Lauren Marie Selby Price is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Robert Price and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Glen Price, and the late John Walter Heard and Mary Lovella Jones. She is a graduate of the Colorado Springs School and plans to attend Colorado State University.

Marissa Joy Quintero is the daughter of the late Carlos Eduardo Quintero and Kirby Witman Quintero and the granddaughter of the late Juvenal Quintero and the late Hilda Roig Dominguez, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Charles Witman of Raleigh, N.C. She is a graduate of the Colorado Springs School and plans to attend Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

Kathleen Marie Raskob is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony William Raskob Jr. and the granddaughter of the late Anthony William Raskob Sr. and Marilyn Ann Raskob, and Dr. and Mrs. William Henry Griffin of Bellingham, Wash. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and plans to attend Notre Dame University in Indiana.

Vivian Frances Snider is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jon Foe Snider and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Rhodes Snider of Fort Smith, Ark., and the late Dallas Eugene Nelson and Mary Frances Hare Nelson of Memphis, Tenn. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

Anna Belle Tuck is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Paul Tuck and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hughene Tuck, and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Knowlton Craig. She is a graduate of Palmer High School. She is undecided about which college to attend.

Jacquelyn Sellers Weddell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Adams Weddell and the granddaughter of David Stover Weddell of Wilson, NC, and the late Barbara Babbitt Weddell, and the late Bruce Frederick Henderson and Mrs. Camille Grimes Whitcomb of Hobe Sound, Fla. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and plans to attend Colorado College.
